Pearlescent pigment is a kind of effect pigment to decorate plastic products. Our industrial pearlescent pigment is widely applied in different processing technology that includes but not limited to injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, casting or add it into masterbatch to produce plastic products cosmetic package, shampoo container, food or medicine package, tube, commodity plastics, toys, fastener, sandal, constructive plastics and decorations etc.

Technically speaking, pearlescent pigment can be applied in all kinds of thermoplastic plastics and partial thermosetting plastics. From aspect of material of plastic, it can be divided into transparent and non-transparent resins. By added pearlescent pigment in resin, a fascinating visual effect is achieved. Usually the high transparency of resin could fully present the unique luster and color effect of pearlescent pigment. For those lower transparent resins for example PC or PVC, due their special processing characteristics also could present pearl luster and color eventually.

Metallic series pearlescent pigments are made of mica coated with iron oxide. Different colors and effects can be obtained by controlling the thickness of coated iron oxide. With the increase of coating amount, the color changes from bronze to red brown to wine red Gradually changing, producing a series of gorgeous colors. Because of its special color, it is very popular in plastic industry.

10-100μm, looking down from the first effect picture above, we can find that the smaller the particle size is, the stronger the covering power of pearlescent powder is; the larger the particle size is, the stronger the glossiness of pearlescent powder is.
